21 Mercer, Part 2.

My first post earlier gave you a preview of the store and the concept and thought behind each detail and concepts and gave some preview of the type of product that 21 Mercer will house. Lets take a look at the event from the other night, it was crazy, one of the biggest and best events(well besides the Standard event the other week) I have ever attended. Nike really laid down the setting for a night to remember.

Lets begin with the line, turning onto Mercer, this was the Line at 8 pm, glad we didn’t have to wait in it. The setup was one whole block of Mercer was blocked off and made into one giant block party.

This was my not stand in line and drinks are free pass. The best wrist band I’ve ever worn in my life.

Above is a pic of the installation that Nike had running all the way thru the event, one massive wall with a collage of the current marketing campaign that now I’m sure most of you have seen. If not come by the shop, Nike was kind enough to have sent a whole box of look book’s show casing product and some really great advertisements.

This was the view when we first walked in, it actually got way more crowded then this, real fast, all very exciting.

Ran into the longtime homies Drew and Dennis from Mighty Healthy. Good to see you guys.

Here’s a view from the other end of the street, by this time the party was packed, oh and Mark Ronson was on the ones and twos, playing hip hop all night!

The super mega huge countdown clock struck zero, so the madness was about to begin.

Spike Lee gets the crowd hype prior to the paper being torn off and the doors being opened for the event attendees. The crowd got way to thick, so your boy hopped to the back to watch the madness.

Hello Serena! Yep she was one of the many superstars on the block that night.

These two Senor Kaos(The Kaos Effect) and Josh(10 Deep) were the other superstars. Overall the night was an amazing experience and alot of fun. Nike really pulled off the night with no problems and with all of this stuff happening at the same time it went very smoothly. Again, a big thanks to Nike for providing the setting of a lifetime. You can also view more photos and event highlights at The Kaos Effect and the Epidemik Coalition blogs.
