As our readers know, Maestro was in town just last week as he came through on tour. After he left here I took him down to Zach’s studio for a little spontaneous photo shoot. If this Nike silouehtt from our latest delivery looks familiar it should. This shoe was originally debuted back in February of 2008. The shoes has had some slight changes made to it. The midsole is much different with a blazer-like midsole. The zoom air has been taken out of the shoe making it much cheaper in price. This is really off the record and random. But with all the Jay-Z D.O.A. hype and what not, I thought it was relevant. About a year ago or so, me and Ryan were working the late shift, and we had a late night customer come in about 10:30 or so. He bought a pair of shoes and then we started chopping it up, he said he was a DJ and just put out a Jay – Z mash Up. Typical stuff, everyone is a DJ in this city, we proceeded to to check his myspace page which he wrote down on a scrap piece of receipt roll paper. We decided to check it out to see what kind of laugh we might get out of it. Little to our surprise it was was one of the best Jay Z mash ups I have heard since the Grey Album by Danger Mouse, actually better in my opinion. One year later I found the entire mix on the net and decided to bless all my Standard readers with it. If you don’t believe me hit the player below to hear one of them.
